VAT returns
Quarterly VAT returns prepared from your books, checked for the usual mistakes, and filed under Making Tax Digital before the 7th.
From £25 a month What is included
A VAT return is only as right as the books behind it. Because we prepare yours from reconciled records, the figures match your bank, and the return goes in without a last-minute scramble.
Each quarter we check the usual mistakes: VAT claimed on things that do not qualify, invoices from suppliers who are not registered, and sales entered at the wrong rate. You see the return and the amount due before we file, and we send the payment date a week ahead.
We also look at whether you are on the right scheme. For some service businesses the flat rate scheme saves money; for others with larger costs it quietly costs more. We check at the start and every year after.
If you are not registered yet but your sales are growing, we keep an eye on the rolling twelve-month total for you and tell you before you cross the threshold.
Questions about vat returns
Should I be on the flat rate scheme?
It depends on your costs. We check it at the start and again each year, and move you if the other scheme would save money.
When is the return due?
One month and seven days after the end of each VAT quarter. We file at least five working days before that.
What if HMRC asks about a return?
We answer routine questions about returns we filed at no extra cost.
Late-filing penalties
